€20m investment announced to expand and replace bus fleet

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Mid-West, Derek Keating, has welcomed the allocation of an additional €100 million for Transport, Tourism and Sport, €20 million of which will go towards expanding and replacing the bus fleet.

Eirgrid to Invest €90m in the Electricity Network in West Dublin

Eirgrid are at Stage 2 of the Public Consultation process in their planned upgrade of the Electricity Network in the Lucan-Clondalkin area at Grangecastle.
There are a number of benefits that will accrue to the residents along the existing overhead cable route between Adamstown and Tullyhall. The current proposal is to remove 10 pylons along that area, including the eyesore at Adamstown, not that the others are pretty but due to the particular proximity of peoples’ homes there. Uncertainty looms over Avoca Handweavers Lucan plans

Local TD Derek Keating has expressed his concern that there is now uncertainty over the plan by Avoca Handweavers to open a retail store at the former Foxhunter site adjacent to Hermitage Park Estate. Having achieved all the necessary planning permission the construction phase was expected to have led to Avoca being open by March 2015.

Local TD Derek Keating unveils plans for newly proposed Primary Care Centre for Lucan

A major step forward in the planned new Primary Care Centre for Lucan is happening this week with the lodgement of an application for planning permission with South Dublin County Council. The proposed Primary Care Centre for Lucan represents a €5m investment which will bring badly needed jobs to Lucan, both in the construction phase and when the Centre is up and running.
