Deputy Derek Keating will be raising this directly with the Taoiseach. He has already discussed it with the Senior Officials of the Department of Education today and he will be meeting with the Minister to have this unjust and unacceptable cut in resources reversed.

In light of Emily Logan – the children’s ombudsman report on child protection published last week calling for a dedicated child protection service.  I think that it is simply unacceptable that a child who has been abused whether it is physically, sexually, emotionally or wilfully neglected  may have to wait and there will be delays in providing a protection service for them.

Deputy Derek Keating learned on Friday that the proposal to allow a “change of use” of a ground floor retail foodstore on Foxborough Road, Lucan, submitted on 30th January 2012 by Kevin Dowd, Proprietor, has been Refused Planning Permission by South Dublin County Council’s Planning & Development Department.

It is with a great sense of pride and personal fulfilment that Derek Keating has announced his retirement from the Board of Directors of Pieta House, Ireland’s 1st Suicide Crisis Centre for Self-Harm & Suicide based in Lucan, Co. Dublin.
