I am calling on the H.S.E. Chief Executive and his Team of Managers to directly intervene to ensure that Blanchardstown Hospital, which provides cover for the residents of Lucan, Palmerstown, Newcastle and some parts of Clondalkin, will be adequate and that the hospital staff, particularly Blanchardstown Hospital Management, will be supported in every way to keep the hospital functioning at 100% level.

In light of Emily Logan – the children’s ombudsman report on child protection published last week calling for a dedicated child protection service.  I think that it is simply unacceptable that a child who has been abused whether it is physically, sexually, emotionally or wilfully neglected  may have to wait and there will be delays in providing a protection service for them.
Following this report will the Minister for Children address the waiting list for abuse assessment
