Eirgrid to Invest €90m in the Electricity Network in West Dublin

Eirgrid are at Stage 2 of the Public Consultation process in their planned upgrade of the Electricity Network in the Lucan-Clondalkin area at Grangecastle.
There are a number of benefits that will accrue to the residents along the existing overhead cable route between Adamstown and Tullyhall. The current proposal is to remove 10 pylons along that area, including the eyesore at Adamstown, not that the others are pretty but due to the particular proximity of peoples’ homes there. Never before is this more needed than with the current crisis affecting our future. We all know too well the state of our Health Service, the pressures on our schools, the cut-backs in our Garda Síochána services, and the financial crisis that has resulted in the massive down-turn in our economy and huge job losses.
